Canine Legislation

Breed Specific Legislation:

At least a dozen Michigan cities or communities have passed breed specific legislation.

February 26, 2009: The Westland City Council has unanimously approved a new animal control ordinance that, in contrast with the old ordinance, is breed-neutral.  ”Our problems come from irresponsible owners,” said Westland Police Chief James Ridener.
